Welcome
Oriana Sousa, Psychologist (OPP Member 23744)
“When we look at someone, we never know the story they carry with them.”
It is from this premise, and from a deep respect for human diversity, that I build my clinical practice.
My commitment is to offer you a confidential and genuine space to be heard, free of pressure or judgment — a safe place to slow down and breathe. My focus is on welcoming your real experience, helping you navigate vulnerability and challenges with clinical clarity and absolute respect for individuality.

Demystifying the first step to therapy
The first session is, above all, a space of welcome and mutual acquaintance. I believe the foundation of any successful therapeutic process is a relationship of trust. Therefore, my initial focus is to ensure you feel in a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment.
During this session, we will focus on three essential steps: understanding your history; defining goals (co-creating the therapeutic plan); and clarifying the process (through the presentation of the commitment document).
You do not need to prepare anything for the first session, just the willingness to take the first step. By the end of the consultation, we will have a clear vision of how to move forward, always respecting your pace.
Psychotherapy sessions take place in a 100% online format (via video call), in a safe and confidential environment. Each session lasts 50 to 60 minutes.
To make the most of our time, you only need to ensure three essential things beforehand: a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a private, quiet space where you can speak freely without interruptions.
For ethical reasons and to protect the confidentiality and privacy of our therapeutic space, audio or video recording of the sessions is strictly prohibited.
Absolutely. I am a Psychologist, a full member of the Portuguese Order of Psychologists (Professional License No. 23744), and my work is governed by strict compliance with the profession's Deontological Code. This guarantees total professional secrecy, strict privacy of your data, and an always evidence-based practice.
To ensure this space is entirely preserved and free from any exposure, no testimonials, comments, or records about the consultations or clinical processes of those I follow are requested, shared, or published. Your story and your privacy remain, always, exclusively yours.
The breach of confidentiality only occurs in extreme circumstances foreseen by law, such as situations involving a risk to the life of the individual or others.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is integrative, with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as the central axis. I design each process in a personalized and flexible way, coherently combining approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Schema Therapy (ST) — always maintaining a systemic perspective on family relationships. The commitment is simple: to combine scientific evidence with humanized listening, creating a safe and strictly individualized space.
Shall we take the first step in your care?
